"My daughter went here during her appendectomy recovery stage. She is 6 years old and was a little apprehensive at first about acupuncture. She quickly turned around after Dr. Gingsong Xiao reassured her that the treatment is painless. After just her first visit my daughter went from having pain in her stomach area, exhaustion and a down feeling to feeling refreshed, energetic and free of pain! We continue to go there and plan on getting the rest of the family treatments after seeing the unprecedented results with our own eyes."

"Dr.Xiao and her team have been so incredibly helpful in my treatment. I had very bad diarrhea and other symptoms. I feel fine and my energy level is getting back after the massage and acupuncture. Thanks"

"I had been not myself for two months...unable to eat a lot of food without getting a stomachache and headache. Had been to doctors who were unable to help, waiting 12 weeks to see a specialist, so decided to give Chinese medicine a try. What a relief! After my first visit, I felt taller, clearer, energized, able to eat anything without getting a stomachache! I purchased a special visit package, so had the second visit, with amazing results also! I will be returning for my third visit soon, and hopefully will tell the 12 week wait specialist never mind! Great place, everyone I have had contact with is wonderful, polite and professional. Highly recommend Great Wall Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture."

"Hello, my name is Russell Wright, and I'm going to leave a video Yelp review for these guys, which I never do, and I've never done before, because my experience of Great Wall Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture was so amazing that it might sound made up if you could not see me in person. What I'm going to do is tell you exactly what happened to me, and give you a unique perspective of how it feels like this staff, and this team, saved my life, and really want to thank Dr. Xiao for all the help that I got in this incident. On my birthday, October 28, 2015, I got really sick. After my family and I went to celebrate my birthday, I came home and I was in the kitchen, and I had a bad experience that I've never had before, and I thought I was having a heart attack. I didn't know what it was. All I felt was this intense sense of panic and fear.It was really, really intense, so I drank some water. I kept moving around, and doing some things in order to avoid the panic. I couldn't sleep. I walked around the neighborhood. I had so much energy, and panic, and anxiety going through my body, that I tried everything. I drank beer. I tried everything I knew to keep calm and settle down. The energy was so intense. It was both panic and energy, like I had to leave the house at all cost. Like a classic anxiety or panic attack. Like an anxiety or panic disorder type of experience. I tried to deal with it, until about 3:00 in the morning, and I still couldn't deal with it, so I went to the hospital. I actually went to a regular hospital, to try to deal with it, and they couldn't find anything wrong with me.They looked at me kind of funny, like it was all in my head, or this type of thing. They gave me some sedatives, very, very heavy sedatives, which I took, which did help because they put me to sleep.
After that, the next day, I went to a traditional American doctor, just whoever I could find, and went to see him, and he immediately recommended that I go onto SSRIs, or essentially, anti-depressants. Anyway, I didn't go on anti-depressants, and later found out, after tending to myself, that there was some problems with my intestines. I only got anxiety, or panic disorder, when I ate something, and only things that were ... I wasn't sure what was going on.The point is that, I was eating things, and they were making me really panicky. Other things I could eat, like spirulina or alkaline things I could eat, and there was no problem. I couldn't understand what was going on, but it was really difficult to eat, and really difficult to think, and I couldn't do anything with my business because I could not concentrate.
I looked up acupuncture, because I wanted another opinion, so I didn't go on anti-depressants, because that's what I was being told I needed to do. There was no connection being made by my traditional M.D. to my intestines.I went to the Great Wall Chinese Medicine and Dr. Xiao set up an appointment, I set up an appointment with her, when she came in the room, immediately I started to feel better.
Now, I know that sounds like the placebo effect, or something like that, but it wasn't. I can only tell you my experience. I haven't been to the doctor in a long time. I don't have these experiences of even going to the hospital, a doctor. I haven't been to a doctor in 10 years and I am not used to getting sick. I'm too busy running my own businesses. She immediately made me feel better, just by telling me to forget everything that I'd been told by other doctors, you're going to start over. She wasn't putting any other doctors down, or saying that they were wrong. She was just saying, "Let's start fresh. Let's have a fresh look at this experience."Then, when I was done, after filling out the forms and helping me, she put me in another room, and the first needle that went into me, felt like an explosion. It was directly at some kind of point, which I've had acupuncture before, many, many years ago, but it immediately went directly towards ... I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry. My whole intestine opened up. It was really crazy. It was an amazing experience, like something hard to explain. That's why I'm actually doing a video, because I want you to understand that, that wasn't a bunch of different things happening. It was talking to me, and then one needle, like Kung Fu Panda. Just one needle. Then I felt intestines start to move, and my energy shift. Again, it's hard to explain. They did some more therapy on me, the red mineral lamps in the right place, and then she placed more needles, and her assistant, who's also wonderful ... I'm not sure her name. They worked together with me, and towards the end of the session, I felt the panic come up in the upper intestine, and then I felt the energy move down into my lower intestine. I felt everything relax that had not been relaxed in 48 hours.
They did some pretty intense work. I think they even put some herbs in the air. I think it was mugwort. It was really, really powerful, and literally, at the end of my session, my intestines, which hadn't moved in several days, had pushed out. I felt it drop. One point, it just all dropped into my lower intestines, and I immediately felt the anxiety, and the fear, and the panic, move down through my intestines. Again, another level of relax. That is not placebo effect. Not that it would be, but it was perfectly pinpoint accuracy. Not like a bunch of needles everywhere, she put them in other places only after . This was my experience. After the movement of that, she had me go get some massage there, with another wonderful person on staff, who really helped ... Actually, I think it was the other way around, I can't remember if it was before or after.
The whole staff works together synergistically to help you to deal with the specific acute pain. You can go there for well-being as well, but I'm giving you the story of going in there with a very specific and acute challenge issue, in which I was immediately helped. Dr. Xiao also created a herbal formula for me, which I didn't know if it was going to work, but after I left, I started taking the tea, and I immediately felt my intestines starting to heal. I had some pretty intense sores under my tongue, which she had already explained to me what was happening inside my body, with the tchi, and I drank the tea and I have been drinking it.
You got to understand that, I don't ever want to have an experience like I had again, which was feeling like I'm having a heart attack or some kind of anxiety, but I know that if I do, I have somebody who's going to look at my whole system, and tell me what's going on, and give me some guidance through that process.
I did purchase more packages, so that I can regularly go and see that staff, the entire team, at Great Wall of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. This is the only video review I've ever given on Yelp. I'm a very busy business owner. I don't have time to give these kinds of reviews. All I can tell you is that this particular staff has only the desire to serve you. There is no desire to put one over on you. They know what they're doing. It's really intense medicine. It's precise and there's a lot of intuition, combined with the precise science of it, and I'm very, very excited and obviously incredibly grateful. I lost 4 days of work, and I require my time to run 4 different companies that I work with. It was very, very important to me, and I'm very, very grateful, Dr. Xiao, and very grateful for the rest of the team. I don't know everybody's name, but thank you. Anybody who is considering acupuncture for the first time, I recommend.
Keep in mind, for the first time, also I want to say that, that team is helping ... the Great Wall Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture team is helping a lot of people. They have a full schedule. Whatever it is that you're experiencing there, they're trying to help as many people as possible, with the most affordable price possible.Just keep in mind that, they have a lot of customers, and I feel privileged and honored to be able to be fit into that schedule. Thank you very much. That is the best review I can possibly get ... There's no such rating as “7 stars” on Yelp. But thats what I would give. Goodbye."

"I chose GWCM for Dr. Xiao's experience, knowledge, and personality. I visited for IBS and headaches. I would absolutely refer friends/family/patients to her and have already done so. I have never seen another acupuncturist/OMD because I don't need to! I have had great results and wouldn't go anywhere else!"
